Nemanja Matic set to leave Man United in January – report
Nemanja Matic is set to quit Manchester United in January, according to a report
Nemanja Matic is set to seek a move away from Manchester United in January, according to a report in England.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Serbia international is set to seek a transfer following a difficult start to the season.
The same article states that Matic is ready to quit Old Trafford after falling behind Scott McTominay and Fred in the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
According to the same story, AC Milan and Inter Milan are both interested in a potential swoop to sign the veteran midfielder in the January transfer window.
The Daily Telegraph go on to claim that Matic will only be allowed to leave Manchester United if Solskjaer is able to sign a midfielder to bolster his squad.
The report goes on to suggest Matic will likely end up in Serie A, although the former Chelsea FC star does apparently have a number of different suitors in Europe.
Matic moved to Manchester United in a £35m deal from Chelsea FC in the 2017 summer transfer window as the Serbian reunited with his former Blues boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The defensive midfielder hasn’t been able to yet win any silverware at Old Trafford.
Matic was a key part of the Chelsea FC team that won the Premier League title under Mourinho in 2015 before the Serbian helped Antonio Conte’s Blues side lift the top-flight trophy in 2017.
