Solskjaer drops hint about Man United signings in January
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer discusses potential new signings at Old Trafford in January
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Manchester United could sign two new players in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils have made a disappointing start to the Premier League season following a return of just three victories in 11 games.
Manchester United are in tenth place in the Premier League table and 10 points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC.
In fact, the Red Devils are closer to the relegation zone than the top four, which has heaped pressure on Solskjaer.
Manchester United been left with limited options up front after the 20-time English champions sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in the summer.
Alexis Sanchez followed Lukaku to the San Siro side to leave Manchester United with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood as their only options up front.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday about potential signings in the January transfer window, Solskjaer said:
“The priority now is to get players fit and get through to the next round.
“Transfers – we always look at the league table, look at players. There might be none, there might be one, might be two in January, but the summer window is the big one and you can’t do many good deals in January.”
Manchester United have managed to beat Chelsea FC, Leicester City and Norwich City ahead of their home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013, when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the 20-time English champions.
Manchester United signed Swansea City winger Daniel James, Leicester City centre-half Harry Maguire and Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
