Real Madrid boss determined to sign 26-year-old Man United star – report
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane remains desperate to sign Man United star Paul Pogba, according to a Spanish reporter
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is determined to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to a report in Spain.
The Daily Mirror are quoting a Spanish journalist called Eduardo Inda, who is claiming that Zidane is desperate to land Pogba.
The transfer expert claims that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has offered Zidane the chance to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen or Napoli’s talented Fabian Ruiz.
However, Inda says Zidane has made it clear in no uncertain terms that the Real Madrid manager wants to bring Pogba to the club rather than sign Eriksen or Ruiz.
The Spanish reporter adds that Zidane has set his sights on signing the Manchester United midfielder in January or in the summer transfer window next year.
According to the journalist, the French manager has told Perez that Pogba would add “genuine quality” to Real Madrid’s options in the middle of the park.
The Daily Mirror quote Inda as saying: “Zidane asks Paul Pogba every day.
“In Real Madrid they insist that they can have Fabian or Eriksen, which could even come in winter.
“Zidane only wants Pogba and this has generated a lot of trouble.”
Manchester United haven been without Pogba due to injury since a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the end of September.
Pogba moved to the Red Devils in a club-record £89m deal from Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The France star has only won the Europa League and the League Cup since his return to Manchester United.
