The Red Devils head into the game looking to bounce back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Astana in the Europa League on Thursday.
Manchester United played out a 3-3 draw with Sheffield United last weekend as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men continued their stuttering start to the new season.
Indeed, Manchester United have only won four of their opening 13 games in the Premier League this season to leave them well off the pace in the race for Champions League qualification.
The Red Devils head into this weekend’s round of fixtures down in ninth place in the table and nine points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC.
Despite their poor form, former Red Devils striker Owen is backing Solskjaer’s men to beat the Villains when they make the trip to Old Trafford this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Aston Villa’s comfortable 2-0 win against Newcastle United at Villa Park on Monday showed once again just how influential Jack Grealish – who was returning from injury – is to Dean Smith’s side, but I still expect Manchester United to keep all three points from what promises to be an entertaining Old Trafford clash on Sunday.
“United have, at the time of writing, scored three times in their last three competitive games and they will certainly give Villa’s back four a sterner test than was the case against Newcastle at Villa Park earlier in the week.”
Manchester United are aiming to try and break back into the top four after they finished sixth and without a trophy last season.
They will host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on Wednesday night.
