Dimitar Berbatov is backing Manchester United to secure a 2-0 win against Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last weekend.

Manchester United are in tenth position in the Premier League table and way off the pace in the race for the top four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have only managed to win three of their 11 games in the Premier League so far this term.

The 20-time English champions secured two of those three victories at Old Trafford after beating Chelsea FC and Leicester City at home.

Former Manchester United striker Berbatov wants to see the Red Devils restore their fear factor at Old Trafford under Solskjaer, starting with a comfortable win against Brighton on Sunday.

“Brighton sit above United in the table but it’s still difficult for me to contemplate anything other than a home victory when the Reds play at Old Trafford,” Berbatov told Metro.

“Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all scored in midweek which should be good for their confidence. United need to put the fear factor back into their performances, especially at home.”

Manchester United made Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the world in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils signed the Leicester City defender in an £80m deal.

However, Manchester United have only managed to keep two clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season.

Brighton are looking to record a third successive Premier League win at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Seagulls will equal a club record in the Premier League if they manage to win their third game in a row by beating Manchester United.
