Mark Lawrenson is tipping Chelsea FC to edge to a narrow win against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.

The Blues saw their seven-game winning run come to an end at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Manchester United were 2-1 winners against Chelsea FC in the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie as goals from Marcus Rashford secured the Red Devils’ progress to the quarter-finals.

Chelsea FC have won their last four Premier League games to cement their position in the top four.

The Blues haven’t dropped points in the Premier League since their 2-1 loss to league leaders Liverpool FC back in September.

Chelsea FC have beaten Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle United and Burnley during their winning run.

Watford are the only Premier League team without a victory so far this season, leaving the Hornets rooted to the bottom of the table.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to beat Watford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

“Watford have drawn a lot recently and are not conceding many goals at the moment, but it is a big ask for them to go from stopping teams playing to beating them, especially against a good side such as Chelsea,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“I am sure the Hornets will get their first win of the season soon, but I very much doubt they will get it this weekend.”

Chelsea FC are in fourth place and four points ahead of Arsenal in fifth spot.

The Blues appointed Frank Lampard as their new manager in the summer following Maurizio Sarri’s 12-month stint in charge of the west London outfit.

Chelsea FC will take on Ajax at Stamford Bridge next week in their next Champions League clash.
