Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal his delight at helping Arsenal to return to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at West Ham United on Monday night.

The Gunners looked to be heading for another difficult night when Angelo Ogbonna netted before half-time for the hosts.

However, Arsenal scored three goals in nine second-half minutes as Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all netted for the visitors.

The win was a welcome one for the Gunners and it was only their fifth victory in the Premier League all season.

The 31-year-old Ozil played the full 90 minutes against the Hammers and he took to Twitter shortly after the game to reveal his delight at the way the game panned out.

Ozil wrote on Twitter: “Finally a reason to smile again… a little bit! That winning feeling is back. How I’ve missed you!

“But of course we all know that there’s still a lot of work in front of us.”

Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they host defending champions Manchester City at The Emirates.

Before that, they will take on Standard Liege away from home on Thursday night in the Europa League.

The Gunners are currently down in ninth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC heading into the hectic festive period in the top flight.
