Paul Scholes has criticised Freddie Ljungberg for not wearing a suit during his first game in charge of Arsenal on Sunday.

The former midfielder has been brought in as interim manager at The Emirates following the sacking of Unai Emery last week, and Ljungberg oversaw a 2-2 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road in his first game in charge of the Gunners on Sunday afternoon.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored once in each half as Arsenal twice came from behind to earn a point at Carrow Road in the Premier League.

Arsenal are currently on the lookout for a new permanent head coach, with Ljungberg taking charge until they can make an appointment.

And it’s fair to say that former Manchester United midfielder Scholes was not particularly impressed by Ljungberg’s start on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Scholes said: “You would think he’d be out in a suit to show a bit of proudness that he took the job.

“To me that’s a great start… shirt and tie to show some discipline.

“I don’t think he’ll be the right man.”

Next up for Ljungberg and Arsenal is a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Thursday night.

The north London side have struggled to find consistent form in recent weeks and they are currently down in eighth place in the Premier League table as they bid to get themselves back into contention to finish in the top four.
