Mauricio Pochettino has remained coy when asked whether he could be the man to take over at Arsenal.

The north London side are currently on the lookout for a new manager after they opted to sack Unai Emery last month and bring in Freddie Ljungberg as his temporary replacement.

Pochettino is out of work after he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last month as Spurs brought in Jose Mourinho as their new boss.

The Argentine has been touted as a possible candidate to take over at The Emirates despite his links with their arch rivals Spurs.

However, Pochettino has refused to give anything away when he was quizzed about his situation in recent days.

Asked about the job vacancies at both Bayern Munich and Arsenal, Pochettino is quoted as saying by Metro: “It’s important to have a moment of calm to lower the decibels and find the energy to take on a new project, and we’ll see where that is.”

On what he will do next, he added: “I’m going to spend a few days here [in Rosario] with my family and friends, and then I’ll return to London next week.”

Arsenal are currently preparing for their trip to West Ham United in the Premier League on Monday night as they bid to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Brighton at home on Thursday night.

The Gunners have only managed to win four of their 15 Premier League games so far this season to leave them well off the pace in the race for the title.
