Frank Lampard is hopeful that Tammy Abraham’s injury isn’t serious after the Chelsea FC striker was substituted during Chelsea FC’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

The England international found the back of the net in the 24th minute to break the deadlock for the home side before Trezeguet levelled four minutes before half-time.

Abraham turned provider in the second half when the 22-year-old teed up Mason Mount to score a 48th-minute winner for the west London outfit at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham was substituted with seven minutes left to play in the mid-week clash due to a suspected injury problem.

The prolific Chelsea FC striker missed their 1-0 loss to West Ham at the weekend after Abraham suffered a bruised hip during their 2-2 draw with Valencia last week.

Lampard was quick to play down the severity of Abraham’s fresh injury scare during Chelsea FC’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

“It doesn’t seem too bad in there, so I’m presuming no, he’s alright,” Lampard said after the game at Stamford Bridge when asked about Abraham’s injury.

Abraham has scored 11 times and has made three assists in 14 appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

The Blues ended their three game run without a win by beating promoted side Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Chelsea FC are in fourth position and six points ahead of Wolves in the race to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
