Chelsea FC defender Fikayo Tomoro reacts to signing a new deal with the west London outfit
Fikayo Tomori admits he is delighted have committed his future to Chelsea FC after the centre-half signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The English centre-half has put pen to paper on a new contract to ensure his long-term future at the west London side.
Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard handed Tomori the chance to shine in the Blues team following his appointment as Maurizio Sarri’s replacement in the summer.
The 21-year-old made his Premier League debut in a 2-2 draw with promoted side Sheffield United back in August.
Tomori has gone on to make a further 10 starts in the Premier League in the current campaign to establish himself as a first-choice player in Lampard’s team.
The Blues youth graduate scored his first Chelsea FC goal in a 5-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers back in September.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website about his new contract at Stamford Bridge, Tomori said:
“The club has been so good to me, looking after and developing me during that time into the player and the person I am today. It’s a dream come true to sign a new five-year contract.
“I’m really happy the club have shown this faith in me and I’m just excited to carry on.”
Chelsea FC defender Tomori helped the Blues to book their place in the Champions League round of 16.
The Blues lost 3-1 to Everton at Goodison Park last weekend to lose for the third time in four games.
Chelsea FC will take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
