Frank Lampard sends message to Chelsea FC fans about January signings
Frank Lampard has his say about potential new signings at Chelsea FC in the January transfer window
Frank Lampard has told Chelsea FC fans that he will start to have conversations with the club’s hierarchy about January signings after their transfer ban was lifted.
The Blues’ two-window ban was halved by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Friday, which means that they will be able to buy new players in January after having been prevented from doing so in the summer.
Lampard has been giving youth a chance at Chelsea FC this season and the Blues boss insists that policy will not change in spite of the transfer ban being lifted for the new year.
Attentions will now gradually start to turn towards the January transfer window and the players Chelsea FC could look to sign next month.
And Lampard has now lifted the lid on how the process will start with regards to potential new additions at Stamford Bridge in the new year.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Lampard said: “The fact is we can’t do anything until January, so at the moment I’m very positive about what we have in front of us.
“I don’t see too far. Of course I’m always evaluating. Can we improve?
“Now we know [the ban has been lifted] there will be conversations. We have a scouting department here, of course we do, we have people working on this all the time whether the ban is here or not.”
Lampard’s men lost 3-1 to relegation candidates Everton on Saturday to cast doubt on their top-four challenge.
Chelsea FC are now preparing for their home clash against Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The west London side will then return to Premier League action on Saturday 14 December with a home clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
