N’Golo Kante: What I really think of Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC
N'Golo Kante opens up on what life has been like under Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC over the last six months
N’Golo Kante has admitted that he is happy with how things are going under Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC but has warned that the Blues must keep working hard.
The west London side are challenging for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season as they look to try and maintain their spot in the Champions League qualification places from last term.
Lampard has been earning praise at Stamford Bridge this season for giving youth a chance to shine, with the manager placing his faith in youngsters such as Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount on a regular basis.
Kante has just made a return to action following a string of niggling fitness issues and the French midfielder has admitted that he is enjoying life under Chelsea FC’s new manager.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website before the trip to Everton, Kante said of Lampard: “He’s still new but he pushes all the team to work, do well and get what we want from each game and from the season.
“We have a good squad, good team-mates and a good spirit because we are doing quite well.
“Finishing in the top four and staying in the Champions League is what we want. If we can do that, it will be a good achievement but hopefully we can win a trophy as well because that is what we play football for at Chelsea.
“For now, we are doing well but we need to keep going.”
Lampard’s side suffered a 3-1 loss to Everton at Goodison Park in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Chelsea FC will return to Champions League action on Tuesday night when they host Lille at Stamford Bridge.
They will then switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Bournemouth on Saturday 14 December.
Chelsea FC are aiming to maintain their place in the top four this season after they finished in third place under Maurizio Sarri last term.
