N’Golo Kante has insisted that he has not been surprised by Tammy Abraham’s fine form for Chelsea FC so far this season.

The England striker has been a regular fixture in the first team at Stamford Bridge this term, with Frank Lampard opting to give Abraham the chance to shine in the starting line-up on a regular basis.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash with Everton, Abraham had scored an impressive 11 goals and made three assists in the Premier League for the west London side.

The 22-year-old has been earning lots of praise for his performances in the Chelsea FC first team this season and he will be hoping to keep his spot in the side in the coming weeks and months.

Abraham’s form may have come as a surprise to some, given that he had not had a regular run in the first team before this season.

However, Kante has insisted that he has not been surprised at all by Abraham’s impressive tally because he sees him working hard behind the scenes every day.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Kante said: “I’m not surprised because you can see that he’s a goal-scorer and he can score at any time.

“From training with him, I just knew what he was.

“He was scoring goals on loan and now he is doing it at Chelsea so hopefully he can just keep on going.”

The Blues slumped to a surprise 3-1 loss to Everton on Saturday to allow Manchester United to move to within five points of the west London side in the top-four race.

Chelsea FC will return to Champions League action on Tuesday night when they host Lille at Stamford Bridge.

They will then prepare for their home Premier League clash against Bournemouth next weekend.
