Chelsea FC eyeing wingers to fit Frank Lampard’s system – report
Chelsea FC eye potential offers to sign Wilfried Zaha or Jadon Sancho, according to a report
Chelsea FC are weighing up potential offers to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha or Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, according to a report in England.
The Telegraph, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Chelsea FC are interested in potential deals to sign the Ivory Coast international and England international.
The same article states that the Blues want to sign wingers to fit Frank Lampard’s preferred 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 systems.
According to the same story, the Blues are keeping a close eye on Sancho’s situation at Borussia Dortmund after the teenager’s recent fall-out with the German club’s hierarchy.
The report goes on to add that Chelsea FC’s ability to sign players will be affected by their transfer ban, which could be overturned ahead of the January window.
The Telegraph report claims that Zaha is eager to leave Crystal Palace but the Ivorian winger is contracted to the London side until the end of the 2023 season.
Chelsea FC suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon to lose ground on their top-four rivals.
Lampard’s men have gone three games without a win following successive Premier League losses to Manchester City and West Ham.
The Blues – who host Aston Villa on Wednesday night in the Premier League – drew 2-2 with Valencia in the Champions League last week.
