Nathan Ake has reiterated that he is happy at Bournemouth despite speculation linking the Netherlands defender with a move to Chelsea FC.

The Cherries star has impressed in the Bournemouth team since his permanent move to the south coast club from Chelsea FC in 2017.

Ake has established himself as a key part of the Bournemouth team under Eddie Howe following his departure from Chelsea FC.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a potential return to Chelsea FC over the past couple of months.

Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard is thought to be keen to improve his defence after the west London club’s transfer ban was lifted last week, meaning that they are now free to sign new players in January.

The Blues have conceded 24 times in 16 games under Lampard since his appointment as Maurizio Sarri’s replacement in the summer.

But speaking to Sky Sports about his future at Bournemouth amid the speculation linking the Dutch star with a return to Chelsea FC, Ake said: “I love Bournemouth.

“The place where we live is amazing. It’s so chilled and nice, and also the club itself is a family club. Especially as a young player to come here, it’s a perfect fit.

“I don’t like to look too far ahead normally, I see it season-by-season or game-by-game. We will see what happens. I don’t like to go too much ahead of time.”

Ake made just 17 appearances in all competitions during his previous stint at the west London outfit.

Chelsea FC sold Ake to Bournemouth in a £20m deal following his successful loan stint at the Cherries.

The Dutch defender has scored 10 goals in 98 games over the past three seasons.
