Sky Sports pundit states his prediction for Chelsea FC v Bournemouth
Sky Sports pundit Phil Thompson is tipping Chelsea FC to beat Bournemouth 4-0 on Saturday afternoon
Phil Thompson believes Chelsea FC will ease to a commanding 4-0 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues will be eager to return to winning ways in the Premier League following a run of three defeats in their last four top-flight games.
Chelsea FC have lost to Manchester City, West Ham United and Everton to loosen their grip on fourth place in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
Lampard’s side will be buoyed by securing their place in the Champions League knockout stage on Tuesday night thanks to a 2-1 win over Ligue 1 side Lille.
Bournemouth have lost their last five Premier League games as Eddie Howe continues to contend with an injury crisis at the south coast club.
The Cherries lost 3-0 to Premier League leaders Liverpool FC last weekend as Howe lost Netherlands international Nathan Ake.
Former Liverpool FC defender Thompson is backing Chelsea FC to win 4-0 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
“It was nervy near the end but Chelsea had to react,” Thompson told Sky Sports.
“Lille had nothing to play for, but the lack of passion to compete with Everton was very evident.
“There was a reaction particularly in the first half of their Champions League tie. I cannot see anything other than a Chelsea win.
“Bournemouth are going through one of their cycles where they cannot win a game, and then they get a cycle where they are winning every week.
“This was coupled with the injuries to Callum Wilson and Nathan Ake, which were big blows against Liverpool – this will not help them at all.”
Chelsea FC have made a strong start to the Premier League season under Lampard after Maurizio Sarri stood down to take over the reins at Juventus.
The Blues finished in third spot in the Premier League last term before winning the Europa League trophy for the second time.
