Jurgen Klopp has singled out Alisson Becker for special praise following his “unbelievable” performance in Liverpool FC’s win over Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Brazil international helped the Reds to keep another clean sheet as two goals from Mohamed Salah fired the Merseyside outfit to a 2-0 win in front of their home fans at Anfield.

It was a hard-fought win for the Reds, who have cemented their position at the top of the Premier League table after having won 16 of their 17 games this season.

Alisson was barely called upon for most of the game but he was forced into action in the closing stages when he produced good saves to deny both Ismaila Sarr and Gerard Deulofeu.

And Klopp was quick to praise Alisson for his performance as the Reds continued their march towards the Premier League title.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Merseyside, Klopp said: “Ali was for 85 minutes of the game really doing warm-up exercises, but in these [other] five minutes he was really important and just showed what a goalie he is.

“He is unbelievable and helped us a lot in these situations.”

Liverpool FC are in Club World Cup action on Wednesday when they take on CF Monterrey.

They will not return to Premier League action until Boxing Day, when they travel to Leicester City in the top flight.

The Reds will then host Wolverhampton Wanderers on 29 December, before a home clash against Sheffield United on 2 January.
