Jurgen Klopp provides update on 31-year-old Liverpool FC midfielder
Jurgen Klopp reveals that Adam Lallana is due back in Liverpool FC training on Thursday

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Adam Lallana will be back training with Liverpool FC on Thursday after suffering from a minor injury.
The 31-year-old midfielder sat out Liverpool FC’s clash with RB Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday night due to the niggle after having also missed the 3-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Klopp chose not to risk including Lallana in the squad for the Champions League clash against Salzburg and he has now revealed that the Englishman is close to being back in full training.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday before the Champions League trip to Austria, Klopp said: “We had pretty much a free choice apart from Adam. Adam is not coming but will be back in training on Thursday.
“Under pressure we probably could have used him, but we didn’t want to make pressure. How I said, it’s a small thing.
“It would have been maybe a risk or not [to consider Lallana against Salzburg], I’m not sure, but we decided to leave him at Melwood and then he can train with the team from Thursday on.”
Lallana has struggled with injury issues this season and he has only started two of Liverpool FC’s 16 Premier League games so far this term.
He came off the bench to score the Reds’ important equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford back at the end of October.
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when they host Watford at Anfield.
The Reds are currently eight points clear at the top of the table after having only dropped two points all season.
