Xherdan Shaqiri sends message to Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp
Xherdan Shaqiri says he is ready to fight for his place in the Liverpool FC team after shaking off a calf injury

Xherdan Shaqiri has declared himself fully fit and ready to go ahead of Liverpool FC’s hectic festive schedule.
The Switzerland international has been unavailable for much of the current campaign due to injury issues and he only made his first start of the season in early December.
Shaqiri impressed as he played the full 90 minutes and scored during Liverpool FC’s 5-2 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield earlier this month.
Reds boss Klopp will be looking to use as many of his players as possible over the coming weeks as the Merseyside outfit face a gruelling schedule which also includes their participation in the Fifa Club World Cup.
And the 28-year-old says he is now ready to perform for the Reds as he looks to help them find form in all competitions.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Shaqiri said: “[I’m] definitely 100 per cent [fit]. Obviously I needed one or two weeks to train but of course I am happy and feeling good so I’m ready.
“I feel good, I feel in shape and I think you saw that against Everton. I’m very happy that I played and got some minutes because I went out for a few weeks.
“I was very happy firstly that I played from the beginning and I wanted to give a good performance. I was very happy and to come back with a goal in the derby was amazing, [something] I’ll never forget.
“But I am looking forward now to the next games. I’m feeling good and I hope for many more.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Watford at Anfield.
The Reds have made an incredible start to the new Premier League season and they have won 15 of their 16 games in the top flight this term.
They currently sit eight points clear of Leicester at the top of the table.
