The Daily Mail, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Portuguese coach wants to meet up with Manchester United’s team chef Mike Donnelly, the kit men, ground staff and some members of the medical staff when he goes back to Old Trafford with Spurs.
According to the same story, Mourinho was unable to deliver a farewell speech to the Manchester United players and staff following his sacking last December.
The same story also quotes Mourinho as saying that he was pleasantly surprised to have received a number of messages from people at Manchester United following his appointment at Spurs.
“It was curious to see, from my last club, so many people showing me that respect, empathy and feeling. It was nice,” Mourinho is quoted as saying in the same article.
“All of them were special. The first one was from [United managing director] Richard Arnold. The third, fourth or fifth was Ed Woodward. And they were my bosses.”
Mourinho is preparing for his return to Old Trafford almost exactly a year after he was sacked by Manchester United following a dismal start to last season.
The Portuguese coach secured a return to management late last month when he was brought in to replace the sacked Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.
Mourinho has made a winning start to life at the north London club, securing three wins from three games in all competitions.
