Rio Ferdinand has taken to social media to celebrate Manchester United’s impressive 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were in impressive form throughout as Marcus Rashford’s two goals helped to fire the home side to their fifth Premier League win of the season.

Rashford gave the home side the lead in the sixth minute with a fine goal, but Dele Alli equalised for the visitors on the stroke of half-time when he fired in from close range.

However, it was Manchester United and Rashford who had the final say, with the England international netting a penalty in the 49th minute after he was fouled in the box.

The win relieves some of the pressure on Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose side had been held to a 2-2 draw by Aston Villa at Old Trafford at the weekend.

And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand was clearly delighted to see the Red Devils return to winning ways with a home victory over the Red Devils.

Posting on Twitter after the game, Ferdinand said: “Ole’s At The Wheel. Get in there… brilliant result! Well Done Lads. #MUNTOT.”

Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards their crunch clash against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday night at The Etihad.

The Red Devils are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification for next season via a top-four finish.
