Manchester United are hoping to convince Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen to move to Old Trafford, according to a report
Manchester United are hoping to persuade Christian Eriksen to move to Old Trafford, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are hoping to finally land Eriksen after the Denmark international rejected Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that the 20-time English champions are ready to make a fresh bid to lure Eriksen to Old Trafford after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking last month.
According to the same story, Manchester United could pay a fee for Eriksen in the January transfer window to prevent the Denmark international agreeing to a transfer with a foreign club next month.
The Daily Mirror report goes on to state that Eriksen would prefer to sample a new league and new culture rather than remain in the Premier League as his contract nears the final six months.
Manchester United were 2-1 winners against Spurs at Old Trafford on Wednesday night after Marcus Rashford scored twice.
Rashford was on the score sheet once again in Manchester United’s 2-1 win at Manchester City on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils are aiming to finish in the top four this season after they ended up sixth in the table last term.
The 20-time English champions haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager back in 2013.
Manchester United will return to Premier League action next Sunday afternoon when they take on Everton at Old Trafford.
Before that, they have a home clash against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night.
