Man United eye Argentina duo in £120m January swoop – report
Manchester United are interested in a big-money swoop to sign Argentina duo Lautaro Martinez and Leandro Paredes
Manchester United are keeping tabs on Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are looking at the Argentina duo as potential recruits in January to bolster their prospects of securing a top-four finish.
The same article states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in the South Americans because they meet the Manchester United’s criteria for new signings as promising young talents.
According to the same story, Manchester United could face competition from FC Barcelona for Inter striker Martinez, 22, who has been linked with a potential move to Camp Nou.
The Daily Mirror go on to add that PSG star Paredes, 25, has grown frustrated under his current manager Thomas Tuchel due to a lack of first-team opportunities.
Manchester United signed Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, Swansea City winger Daniel James and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer.
However, the trio of signings haven’t been able to transform Manchester United into a top-four team this season.
Manchester United qualified for the Europa League knockout stage courtesy of their 4-0 win over Dutch club AZ Alkmaar last week.
The Red Devils finished in sixth spot in the table last term.
