The Red Devils will be looking to make a swift return to winning ways following a 3-3 draw with promoted side Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last weekend.
The 20-time English champions suffered a shock 2-1 loss to FC Astana in the Europa League in Kazakhstan on Thursday night, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielded an inexperienced side.
Manchester United have only managed to win two of their last six Premier League games to heap pressure on Solskjaer.
Aston Villa have given a decent account of themselves since securing their promotion back to the English top flight.
The promoted side are three points adrift of Manchester United and four points clear of the relegation zone.
Former Manchester United striker Berbatov is backing the Red Devils to secure a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
“There are no excuses for Manchester United in this one, a lot of their senior players had a rest midweek and they have had time to prepare for this one,” Berbatov told Betfair.
“I don’t think anyone will be happy with where they are in the table at the minute and they need a reaction. The table is tight at the moment and these are the matches that they need to get three points from.”
Manchester United have made their worst start to a top-flight season since 1988-89.
The Red Devils conceded three times at Sheffield United last weekend, with Phil Jones being hauled off at half-time.
Manchester United have only managed to keep one clean sheet in their last 12 games.
Aston Villa’s last four Premier League goals have all come from set pieces.
