Dimitar Berbatov is backing Manchester United to claim a 3-1 win over Everton in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League following their recent impressive victories against both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Manchester United have been earning praise for their performances in recent weeks and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men seem to be hitting a good run of form ahead of the important festive schedule in the Premier League.

Everton, meanwhile, head into the game looking to make it back to back wins after their impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea FC at Goodison Park last weekend.

Solskjaer will be keen for his side to pick up the three points as they look to keep themselves in contention for a top-four finish heading into the new year.

And former Manchester United striker Berbatov is fully expecting to see the Red Devils claim a home win against Duncan Ferguson’s side.

Writing in his column for Metro, Berbatov said: “I was very happy after the Manchester derby because United fully deserved their victory over City.

“Everton aren’t a small team but United should always beat them at Old Trafford. I love Duncan Ferguson and last week you could see his energy flowing through Everton when they beat Chelsea.

“This won’t be easy for United but, if they play with as much desire as they have done in the past two league games, I can see them winning this one by a couple of goals.”

Manchester United will return to League Cup action next week when they take on Colchester in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
