Steve McManaman raved about Mohamed Salah’s brilliant goal in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 win against RB Salzburg in the Champions League night on Tuesday night.

Jurgen Klopp started his front three for the first time in three games as Liverpool FC looked to secure their place in the Champions League knockout stage.

Salah missed two clearcut chances before Naby Keita’s header broke the deadlock in the 57th minute following Sadio Mane’s excellent cross.

The Egypt international doubled the away side’s lead a minute later when he raced onto a loose ball and finished from a tight angle on his weaker foot.

Salah’s outrageous finish was his second goal in successive games after the former Chelsea FC forward netted arguably one of the goals of the Champions League season far.

Liverpool FC had chances to extend their lead further but Mane and Salah were wasteful in front of goal.

Former Liverpool FC midfielder McManaman lavished praise on Salah for his brilliant goal.

“It was a lovely ball over from Henderson,” McManaman told BT Sport. “He was playing it into the space. It’s instinctive. What a finish that is with his right foot. It was instinctive. What a ball! Breathing space for Liverpool.”

Salah has scored 11 times in 21 games in all competitions this season.

Liverpool FC finished top of their Champions League group and a point ahead of Serie A giants Napoli to secure their place in the last 16.

The Merseyside outfit will take on the Premier League’s basement club Watford in their next top-flight fixture at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool FC won the Champions League crown last season thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

The Reds are bidding to reach their third Champions League final this season.
