Alli starred in the Premier League victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he netted twice inside 50 minutes, before Moussa Sissoko added a third to put Spurs in control in the 69th minute.
Harry Wilson netted a late double for the visitors but Mourinho’s men held on to claim the three points and make it three wins from three in all competitions since Mourinho took over.
Alli, 23, has now scored three goals in three games for Spurs, and Mourinho has revealed his delight at how the England international has been performing since he took over.
Mourinho told Sky Sports after the game: “With Dele, I don’t need to speak.
“It’s the best thing that can happen to a coach when you don’t need to speak about a player because everybody speaks.
“Everyone is speaking about him for the right reasons. He’s playing really well and I couldn’t ask any more from him. He’s scoring goals, assisting, and his work-rate is fantastic.”
He added: “He plays in a position where he feels happy and comfortable. We also give him space for his creativity which he always has.
“I think he played three phenomenal matches since I arrived.”
Mourinho will now start to prepare for a return to Manchester United and a clash at Old Trafford against his former employers on Wednesday night in the Premier League, almost a year after he was sacked by the Red Devils.
The Portuguese coach has been brought in by Spurs to help guide them up the Premier League table and bring them back into contention for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.
