Charlie Nicholas is tipping Burnley to claim a 1-1 draw when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs head into the game looking to bounce back to winning ways after they suffered a 2-1 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, their first loss since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as their new manager.

The Lilywhites will be eager to bounce back to winning ways this weekend when they welcome Burnley to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they bid to continue climbing the Premier League table.

Burnley are currently down in 12th place in the Premier League table and just two points behind Spurs heading into Saturday’s clash in north London.

And former Arsenal star Nicholas is backing Burnley to claim a point from the game and frustrate Mourinho’s side in front of their home fans.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “Tottenham got a reality check at Old Trafford, with Manchester United exploiting their mess of a defence.

“Spurs were fortunate to escape with a 2-1 defeat. Nothing appears to have changed since Jose Mourinho’s appointment.

“Burnley are the most unpredictable I have seen them under Sean Dyche. They are usually strong at home but have been unable to perform consistently on the road.

“They won’t park the bus as Spurs, but they may have to because they are so week defensively. That said, if Dyche can get a tune out of Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood, this will be an awkward afternoon for Tottenham.”

Spurs will return to Champions League action on Wednesday night when they take on Bayern Munich away from home.

They will then switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Wolves on Sunday 15 December as the hectic festive period in the top flight looms large.
