Tottenham don’t want to sign experienced Man United star – report
Tottenham Hotspur aren't interested in a deal to sign Manchester United outcast Nemanja Matic, according to a report
Tottenham Hotspur aren’t interested in a deal to sign experienced Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Spurs have no intention of launching a bid to sign Matic next month despite speculation to the contrary in England.
The same article states that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has no plans to add Matic to his Tottenham squad in spite of their previous working relationship at Chelsea FC and Manchester United.
According to the same story, the north London outfit are in no rush to sign any central midfielders given that they’ve already got Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Victor Wanyama in their squad.
Matic’s future has been a source of debate at Old Trafford this season after the Serbian midfielder fell down the pecking order at the start of the Premier League campaign.
Scotland international Scott McTominay has established himself as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice central midfielder in the absence of World Cup winner Paul Pogba.
Manchester United signed Matic in a £40m deal from Chelsea FC in the 2017 summer transfer window following Mourinho’s appointment as manager.
Matic won two Premier League titles during his two stints at Chelsea FC, but he hasn’t won any silverware at Manchester United.
