Toby Alderweireld is a Belgian footballer who currently plays at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
The Belgium international started his career at Dutch club Ajax and spent five seasons in Amsterdram.
Alderweireld moved to La Liga side Atletico Madrid in a £6.6m deal in September 2013.
However, he was sent out on loan to Southampton in 2014-15 before Tottenham Hotspur beat the Saints to a permanent transfer for Alderweireld.
Toby forged an impressive partnership with compatriot Jan Vertonghen in the Tottenham defence.
Alderweireld made his debut against Czech Republic in 2009. The centre-half has scored three times in 75 games for the Belgium national team.

Toby moved to the Ajax youth academy from Antwerp in 2004.
Alderweireld signed his first professional contract with Ajax in 2007 to secure his future in Holland until 2010.
He made his first appearance for Ajax in a 4-2 victory over NEC in January 2009.

However, Toby struggled to win back his spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s team with just three appearances in the Premier League in 2018.
Alderweireld became embroiled in a bitter contract dispute with Spurs after he failed to commit to a new long-term deal.
Alderweireld’s contract will expire at the end of the 2018-19 season but Spurs do have the option to extend the Belgium international’s contract by an extra 12 months.
However, if Spurs do opt to activate the clause in Alderweirld’s contract then the 29-year-old would be available for a cut-price £25m deal in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Manchester United were heavily linked with a £55m swoop to sign the Tottenham centre-half in June 2018.
He made just three appearances in the second half of the 2017-18 season.
Alderweireld was a regular in the Belgium’s youth ranks after he made appearances for the Under-16 side all the way up to the Under-21 team.
Toby made his first appearance for the Belgium senior team against Czech Republic in 2009.

However, Toby was a regular in the Belgium team when the major tournament headed to Brazil in 2014.
