Jordon Ibe will prove a real asset to Birmingham City, according to Blues boss Lee Clark.

The Liverpool youngster completed a loan move to St Andrew’s last Friday in order to gain much-needed first-team experience.

18-year-old Ibe made a cameo appearance for Birmingham as Clark’s side were 2-1 winners against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

And the Birmingham boss Clark is excited by Ibe and his potential impact on the Championship side heading into a key period of the season.

“I am so excited by Jordan and what he now gives us. We saw glimpses of his skill in his first training session with us and he showed a bit more in the game,” Clark is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“He seems so confident in his own ability. He has great power and pace. He is a real asset. We have done unbelievably well to get him.”

Ibe made his Liverpool debut in a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, assisting Philippe Coutinho’s winner, before going on to make two more appearances this term.
