‘Aaron Ramsey is in great shape for Arsenal comeback’
Former Cardiff team-mate Michael Chopra insists Arsenal midfielder is back to his best after injury
Aaron Ramsey is ready to pick up where he left off at Arsenal, according to his former Cardiff team-mate Michael Chopra.
The Gunners midfielder has spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest and Cardiff during his lengthy recovery from a gruesome leg break at Stoke in late February 2010 but is now on the brink of making a comeback for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Ramsey was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s goalless draw with Sunderland on Saturday but Chopra, who played alongside the Wales midfielder at Cardiff this season, insists the 20-year-old will soon rediscover his top form.
“He’s looking fit and sharp,” Chopra told The Sport Review. “The more games he plays the more encouragement he’ll get because it was such a bad injury.
“When you’ve been out injured the only thing to do is to get as many games as possible and I think that’s what Cardiff have given him.”
Ramsey netted once in seven appearances during his short spell with the Bluebirds and Chopra is confident his natural ability will shine through despite a long and agonising rehabilitation period.
He added: “He’s a great player and you don’t lose that overnight. He wouldn’t be at Arsenal if he didn’t have that special talent.”
