Alan Shearer: Arsenal can prove me wrong about title bid
Alan Shearer admits he will have to revise his opinion about Arsenal's title hopes if they are still top of the table in January

Alan Shearer admits that he will have to revise his opinion about Arsenal’s title hopes if the Gunners are still top of the Premier League in the new year.
The north Londoners have been setting the pace in the English top flight and currently lead the way at the top of the table after moving five points clear of second-placed Liverpool at the weekend.
If they are still sat top in January then one or two people might have to change their opinion.

However, Arsenal’s failure to lift the trophy since their unprecedented unbeaten season in 2003-04 has led many to question whether Arsene Wenger’s men can sustain a credible title challenge this season.
And ex-England international Shearer feels that the forthcoming hectic festive fixture schedule will prove to be a pivotal period for the high-flying Gunners.
“I know us pundits are getting a bit of stick for not backing them for the title, but they seem to be coming up with the right answers every weekend,” Shearer told talkSPORT.
“Like it is for every club, this period over Christmas is critical and if they are still sat top in January then one or two people, including myself, might have to change their opinion.
“They keep winning games. It was tough game for them against Everton at the weekend. It will be another big test for them this weekend but for the vast majority up to now they keep coming up with the right answers.”
