Tottenham legend Gary Lineker (‏@GaryLineker) hails a certain Everton left-back: “Astonishingly brilliant pair of free-kicks from Baines. 2-2! West Ham down to 10 men after Noble red card. Most ignoble. Blimey. Lukaku 3-2.”

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge ‏(@Realaldo474) hopes it’s just a rare off day for the Reds: “Sorry to say I was spot on, very disappointing performance, imbalanced and disjointed compared to the last nine months. Hopefully a one off.”

Ex-Liverpool forward Neil Mellor ‏(@NeilMellor33) agrees with Aldridge: “Frustrating result today at Anfield. Lacked cutting edge in attacking areas.”

Reds legend Phil Thompson ‏(@Phil_Thompson4) asks the question that most Liverpool fans posed at the start of the match: “Four centre-backs???????”

Southampton defender Luke Shaw (‏@Luke_shaw3) praises the fans: “And also like to thank the fans for there great support, like always! Unbelievable! Well done to you all!”

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone (‏@TomHuddlestone6) praises the Tigers’ reponse: “Great win, we did well to bounce back after two unlucky goals to concede!! Lads were immense throughout though #hcafc”
