Shaka Hislop has encouraged Chelsea to secure the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer
Shaka Hislop has backed Chelsea’s reported pursuit of Alex Sandro and says the full-back would be a “perfect fit” at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus full-back in recent days as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his squad with Chelsea’s first summer signing.
Chelsea have been linked with Sandro and a host of other players this summer but the Blues have not yet been able to officially announce the arrival of any stars.
Conte is thought to be keen to bolster his options at full-back this summer and has reportedly identified Sandro as the perfect signing.
And former goalkeeper Hislop is certain that Sandro would be a great signing for the west London side this summer.
Hislop told ESPN FC: “Without question (Chelsea should go in for him).
“Alex Sandro is a perfect fit for anybody and I’ll say this unapologetically, Alex Sandro on my money is the second best left-back in world football. Second only behind Brazilian team-mate Marcelo.
“This is an incredible acquisition if indeed Chelsea are able to finalise a deal and get his signature. Perfect fit without question.”
Chelsea are looking for reinforcements after the Blues won the Premier League in Conte’s first campaign in charge last season to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Blues came up short in the FA Cup final, however, as they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal last month at Wembley.
