Ian Wright has taken to social media to urge Arsenal to splash the cash on keeping Alexis Sanchez at the club beyond the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer, due to the fact that both he and Mesut Ozil have entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.

There have been reports in the British media in recent days that Sanchez is demanding wages in the region of £400,000 a week to stay at the Emirates Stadium and sign a new deal.

And it would appear that Arsenal legend Wright would be pleased to see the Gunners tie Sanchez down to a new deal – even if it means making him the highest-paid player in England.

Replying to a tweet by Daily Mirror journalist John Cross in which Sanchez is claimed to want £400,000 a week in wages to sign a new deal, Wright said: “1 year left 😳😳😳😳. Give him it 😡.”

Arsenal confirmed their second signing of the summer transfer window on Wednesday when they landed striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club record deal from French club Lyon.
