Alvaro Morata says he is targeting Champions League glory in his first season at Chelsea.

The Spanish striker has made a strong start to life at Stamford Bridge since signing for the Blues from Real Madrid back in July.

Morata has scored three goals and made two assists in four Premier League games for the Blues to help them move up to third place in the table after four games.

Chelsea are now preparing to make their return to the Champions League, with Antonio Conte’s men set to host Qarabag at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

And the 24-year-old forward is desperate to help Chelsea win their second Champions League title this season.

Morata is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: For me the Champions League is the main prize you can win, both as a club and as a player.

“I have lived through the experience of playing in this competition with both Juventus and Real Madrid – and I have won titles.

“This season I am playing to win again. It will be a special success for me if we can do it.”

Chelsea missed out on a place in Europe altogether last season after they finished 10th in the campaign before.

However, they have gone straight into the group stage this season after their impressive Premier League title triumph under Conte last term.

Morata, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid last term, scored his third Premier League goal of the season for Chelsea on Saturday afternoon as he helped the Blues to claim a 2-1 win at Leicester City and keep their title bid on track.
