Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool FC’s 3-3 draw at Arsenal
The Liverpool FC legend reacts to the Reds' dramatic 3-3 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night

Jamie Carragher felt Arsenal and Liverpool FC’s 3-3 draw epitomised why neither side will challenge for silverware this season.
Liverpool FC made the breakthrough in the first half thanks to Philippe Coutinho’s deft header but couldn’t double their lead before half-time.
The Merseyside outfit did extend their advantage in the second half when Mohamed Salah capitalised on some poor Arsenal defender to make it 2-0.
However, Arsenal halved the deficit almost immediately thanks to Alexis Sanchez’s close-range header before Granit Xhaka’s strike from outside the area beat Simon Mignolet to level the Premier League clash.
Mesut Ozil scored the pick of the six goal in a thrilling encounter when he combined brilliantly with Alexandre Lacazette before lifting a deft finish over the Liverpool FC goalkeeper.
The German midfielder’s goal capped a crazy four minutes and 45 seconds for the hosts but Arsenal couldn’t hold on.
The Reds managed to rescue a point in a 3-3 draw thanks to Roberto Firmino’s powerful finish that Petr Cech was able to slow down but couldn’t prevent cross the line.
Retired defender Carragher felt that both Arsenal and Liverpool FC proved why neither team are challenging for the Premier League title.
“This game is an advert for the reason we love watching these two teams play,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“We got a great and exciting game. This game is another reason why you feel these two teams will come short for the big prizes.”
