Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey: Arsene Wenger always had belief in me
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey reveals Arsene Wenger's unwavering faith helped get him through a tough period

Aaron Ramsey has revealed Arsene Wenger’s unwavering faith in the Welshman is a key part of his rejuvenation this season.
The 23-year-old has been an important cog in Arsenal’s side after scoring 13 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Ramsey, who moved to The Emirates in a £10m deal from Cardiff in 2007, had struggled to recapture his best form in the aftermath of his horror leg break at Stoke City in 2010.
The Wales captain’s poor performances had led to criticism from Gunners supporters – and Ramsey revealed Wenger’s faith was key to helping him through a tough period.
Asked how he dealt with the negative comments directed at him, Ramsey replied: “You don’t read too much into what is said as long as you have belief in yourself and the manager has the belief in you.”
Ramsey also revealed former Cardiff City and Republic of Ireland midfielder Graham Kavanagh was his idol as he progressed through the Bluebird ranks.
“Graham Kavanagh – he was the Cardiff captain and played in my position so that’s who I looked up to and wanted to aspire to be like,” Ramsey added.
