Arsenal boss Wenger expects ‘different’ derby against Tottenham

Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal’s clashes with Tottenham are always “different” ahead of Sunday’s trip to White Hart Lane.
The Gunners head into the derby looking to a victory to keep their Premier League title bid on track, with Arsenal currently third in the table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea having played a game less.
This derby is especially important for our Premier League position

Wenger’s side have won just two of their last six top-flight outings, while Spurs go into the game on the back of a 4-0 loss to Chelsea and a 3-1 home defeat by Benfica in the Europa League in midweek.
But Wenger feels that both side’s recent form will not play a part in proceedings at White Hart Lane.
“This game is always different for me, yes, but I must say as well that this derby is especially important for our Premier League position. And that has an even bigger meaning for me.
“It is all about the effort we have put in throughout the campaign. At start of the season we were facing a big question and had many doubters about us.
“We have worked so hard that now we want to transform that into a super successful season. We are in a strong position so, beyond even the derby, is the importance of this game in the Premier League for us.”
