Martin Keown tips 26-year-old to shine in Arsenal v Brighton
The Arsenal legend is backing Aaron Ramsey to produce another dominant performance against Brighton on Sunday
Martin Keown has warned Brighton that Aaron Ramsey will be raring to go when Arsenal host the promoted side at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were 4-2 winners against BATE Borisov in Belarus on Thursday night to maintain their 100 per cent start in the Europa League.
Wenger opted to leave Ramsey out of his squad to face BATE ahead of the visit of Chris Hughton’s side in Sunday’s early kick-off in the Premier League.
The Wales international has been one of Arsenal’s best players in recent weeks and Ramsey has helped the Gunners to turnaround their ailing campaign.
The 26-year-old impressed in a goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before winning a second-half penalty in Monday night’s 2-0 win against West Brom.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Ramsey’s mid-week rest will ensure the versatile midfielder will be 100 per cent for the visit of Brighton this weekend.
“Arsenal face a long trip to Belarus tonight but Arsene Wenger has been able to leave Aaron Ramsey in London,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“I imagine he will be fresh and raring to go to face Brighton on Sunday.”
Ramsey has scored one goal and has made one assist in six Premier League appearances in the 2017-18 season so far.
The Gunners are sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table following a return of 10 points from their opening six games.
Arsenal signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
