Arsenal are hoping to secure a deal for former Chelsea FC defender Gary Cahill on a free transfer this summer, according to a report in England

Arsenal are one of a number of clubs considering a swoop to sign former Chelsea FC captain Gary Cahill this summer, according to a report in England.
Website 90min is reporting that the Gunners are interested in the 33-year-old after their London rivals released Cahill at the end of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
The same article states that Arsenal will face competition for the experienced defender’s signature from their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
According to the same story, Championship play-off winners Aston Villa are also hoping to secure a deal for the former England international this summer.
90min go on say that Cahill would like to stay in the English capital following his move to Chelsea FC from Bolton in 2011.
However, the report does add that John Terry could be able to convince his former Chelsea FC centre-half partner to move to Villa Park.
Chelsea FC finished in third spot in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Blues were 4-1 winners against Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku to win their first and only trophy under Maurizio Sarri.
Arsenal ended up in fifth spot and without Champions League football for the third successive season.
