The Arsenal star opens up on his Instagram page about his devastating knee injury
Hector Bellerin has vowed to overcome the latest obstacle in his Arsenal career following his season-ending knee injury last weekend.
The Spain international suffered a serious knee problem in the second half of Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea FC at The Emirates.
The 23-year-old was replaced in the 72nd minute after the Spanish full-back had teed up Alexandre Lacazette for their opening goal.
Bellerin is now facing the prospect of a prolonged spell on the sidelines after scans confirmed that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The former FC Barcelona defender had only just returned from a calf strain which had kept Bellerin out of Unai Emery’s side for almost a month.
Bellerin took to Instagram to reassure Arsenal supporters that he is looking to the positives following the cruel blow.
The Arsenal star posted the below photo on his Instagram page and Bellerin wrote the following caption:
“There are no obstacles in life you can’t get over. Been a difficult couple of days but I’m positive and ready to take whatever challenge comes my way. Thank you so much for the love and messages, you are incredible ❤”
Bellerin has made five assists in 19 games in all competitions in the current campaign under his compatriot Emery.
Arsenal will be without a key component of their team as the Gunners look to secure a top-four finish for the first time in three seasons.
The Gunners are three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
