Craig Bellamy has ruled out Arsenal finishing in the Premier League’s top four this season.
The Gunners finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
Arsenal parted company with Arsene Wenger at the end of the 2017-18 campaign after 22 seasons under the Frenchman’s charge.
The north London side appointed former Paris Saint-Germain head coach Unai Emery as Wenger’s replacement back in May 2016.
Arsenal have signed five players in the summer transfer window to improve the Spaniard’s new squad ahead of the new season.
The Gunners suffered a 2-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Manchester City in their Premier League opener.
Former Liverpool FC striker Bellamy is tipping Arsenal to miss out on a top four finish under Emery last term.
“ I don’t think Arsenal will get in the top four but I am more optimistic after the game than I was before the game,” Bellamy told Sky Sports’ The Debate.
Arsenal signed Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, Borussia Dortmund centre-half Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lorient teenager Matteo Guendouzi in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The Gunners have won’t the Premier League title since 2003-04 when the north London side finished the campaign.
