Emery replies when asked if Aubameyang can improve Arsenal goal tally
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is confident Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can improve upon his goal tally this season

Unai Emery is confident Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can improve upon his Arsenal goal tally in the 2019-20 Premier League season.
The Gabon international scored his first goal of the new campaign in a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
Aubameyang finished at the top of the Premier League’s goal-scoring charts alongside Liverpool FC duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah last term.
The Arsenal striker will be eager to finish as the outright winner of the Premier League’s golden boot this season.
Aubameyang kept pace with Salah after the Arsenal striker got on the end of Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ cross from the right and fired past Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the 58th minute.
Asked during his post-match media conference whether Aubameyang could improve his goal tally this year, Emery replied: “Yes.
“Our idea is to continue being one team, mostly offensive. But we need to also take the balance defensively.
“We started well and the next week is going to be another challenge for us. A clean sheet, but first to win and to create a big spirit as a team, a big spirit in the Emirates. To win away we know is difficult in each match.
“We struggled but we deserved it. I am happy but we calm down to train tomorrow and prepare for the match on Saturday.”
He added: “Aubameyang is our scorer, with Lacazette, with Pepe, with Reiss Nelson, with Micki and other players.
“And really, today I think every player worked very well. He scored, Aubameyang, but I think it was because every player worked together.”
The Gabon striker can count on more help from his Arsenal colleagues this season after Emery signed Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos in the summer transfer window.
Pepe arrived in a club-record £72m deal from Ligue 1 side Lille and Ceballos swapped Real Madrid for Arsenal in a season-loan deal to bolster Emery’s midfield.
Arsenal will host Burnley in their next Premier League fixture at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon in a bid to secure successive top-flight victories.
