Craig Bellamy has ruled out Arsenal winning the Europa League this season.
The Gunners have endured a difficult 2017-18 campaign under Arsene Wenger to heap further pressure on the French head coach following a difficult decade.
Arsenal lost 3-0 to Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley following an underwhelming performance last month.
The Gunners suffered another 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Premier League leaders in the English top flight at The Emirates before a 2-1 loss at relegation candidates Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.
Arsenal are in sixth place and 13 points adrift of the top four following four losses in their last five Premier League games to leave the Gunners contemplating another season without Champions League football.
The north London side can still qualify for Europe’s premier club competition if Arsenal manage to win the Europa League just as Manchester United managed to do under Jose Mourinho last term.
Arsenal were 2-0 winners against AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash at the San Siro on Thursday night.
Former Liverpool FC and Manchester City striker Bellamy doesn’t envisage Arsenal winning a first European trophy under Wenger.
“He hasn’t looked happy,” Bellamy told Sky Sports. “I am a big fan of Conte.
“He won a league last year. He spent over £200m this year on a team that won the league.
“How much more ambition do you want? How many managers would give for that?”
Arsenal won the FA Cup for the third time in the past four seasons.
