Jurgen Klopp has described Arsenal as one of the best teams in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a place in the Champions League.

Arsenal ended up a staggering 27 points adrift of Premier League runners-up Liverpool FC in the 2018-19 season.

Unai Emery signed Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli, Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba, Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney and Chelsea FC centre-half David Luiz in the summer.

Arsenal beat Newcastle United and Burnley in their opening two Premier League games to fuel talk of a top-four challenge at the very least from the Gunners this term.

Emery’s side made the trip to Liverpool FC at Saturday hoping to reinforce their title credentials by taking points of the Champions League holders.

However, Joel Matip’s header and Mohamed Salah’s double sealed a comfortable 3-1 win for Liverpool FC despite Lucas Torreira’s late consolation goal for the visitors.

Writing in his matchday programme ahead of Liverpool FC’s home clash against Arsenal, Klopp is quoted as saying by Metro:

“They have recruited amazing talent this summer.

“It’s one of the reasons why I haven’t liked the ‘external’ focus in pre-season being on just a couple of clubs contesting for honours this season.

“To me this made no sense at all.

“It’s a complete nonsense if you don’t view this Arsenal, with this manager, as being one of the best teams in the country.

“They have everything required to go the distance and I think it’s why we are in for such an exciting season in the Premier League.

“The good news for me and the staff here at Liverpool is that our players do not need reminding today that they face a world-class opponent.”

Liverpool FC will make the trip to Burnley in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday.

The Reds finished a point behind Manchester City last term.
