Arsenal welcomed the Premier League leaders at The Emirates on Thursday night and Pep Guardiola’s side were 3-0 winners in north London.
The Gunners have lost their last three Premier League games on the road and have only managed to win four of their 13 games in 2018 so far, losing seven times.
Arsenal are in sixth place and a long way off the pace in the top-four race to raise the possibility of another season without Champions League football.
Former Gunners star Merson believes Arsenal are the worst team in the Premier League.
“I feel Arsenal have gone,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Confidence is shot, and I don’t think they’ll be up for a fight against Brighton. I can’t see Arsenal being able to live with them. For me, they’re the worst team in England without the ball.”
Arsenal will take on Serie A giants AC Milan in the Europa League last 16 with a place in the Champions League up for grabs if the Gunners win Europe’s second tier competition.
The north London side will make the trip to Brighton and Hove Albion in their next Premier League game at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.
