Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has endorsed Unai Emery as Arsenal manager after the Spanish head coach replaced Arsene Wenger.
The Gabon international completed a £57m club record move to Arsenal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
The Arsenal striker scored 10 times in 14 games all competitions in the second half of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal with a big reputation following an incredible return of 141 goals in 213 games during five campaigns at Dortmund.
The Arsenal centre-forward failed to get on the score sheet in a 2-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Manchester City last weekend.
Emery was criticised for his tactics as the Gunners adopted an open approach which was duly exploited by Pep Guardiola’s men.
Aubameyang shed light on what the initial months under Emery have been like ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea FC on Saturday evening.
“The message of the new coach is all about showing character, to put a lot of intensity, play high up the pitch and implement a big pressing. That’s the style we will play this season,” Aubameyang told ESPN.
Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League place.
The Gunners have failed to qualify for Europe’s premier club competitions over the past two seasons.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when the north London side finished the campaign unbeaten.
